Took the girls to the vets today. Was very happy that my fears (Freya being older than I think she is, me being exposed as a bad owner) were completely unfounded. They were both injected, had flea treatments and were both wormed (Freya was thrilled with that, I can tell you), and both pronounced healthy and happy. Aubrey was sooo well behaved, I was so impressed with her, she wasn't a bit flighty, and just seemed resigned to the whole thing.

We've been given stuff to treat the house, so when [livejournal.com profile] tru_loo comes over, our little visiters will have died! Freya was a total pain tho, and kept leaping onto Jody, her place of safety. Quite touching in a way. Bloody expensive tho, but the price one pays for having kitties!

Now, onto the questions. Firstly does anyone on my flist have experience of pet insurance? I would really like any advice you could give me with relation to policies and cover etc.

Secondly (and not cat realted), does anyone know a good and cheapish place to get legs waxed? Just from the knees down, and in Brum obviously. Miss [livejournal.com profile] candi_topping, I'm looking at you!

Thanks kids! See you all soon!

I can x-post about pet insurance if you want as I see the people on my f'list that are likely to know aren't on your f'list.

On the pet insurance - read any policy very carefully. Everyone I know that has had it has found in the light of needing the policy to pay up, they didn't because of some loop hole or another. When it comes to kitten, or a very young cat with a clean bill of health I'd say get it, but if they're over 4 years old, tread with caution.

On the waxing - my friend is a qualified beautician and does leg waxing at her home, or will visit you in yours. If you like me to have a word with her, just give me the nod :)

Not until August (not going away until then) Would she take a cheque or is she cash only?

That should be a problem for her babe, she's only going away for a week I think...if you can let me know a date that would be good for you, I can speak to her today to find out if it's good for her too :)

Oh and she prefers cash, whether she'd take a cheque I don't know, but I can find out :)

Thanks chick! I go away on the 19th of August, so it'll probably be sometime that week, but not the 18th!

heehee- sorry to barge in on this thread, sweetie- but if you're getting your legs waxed for holiday, can I come too? coz I'd be worried going to have it done by myself, so if there was soemone else there it'd be great! (I'm such a baby! :D )

shop around online for the best deal. no-one covers for dental anymore because it's the most common reason for people to claim. try and get one that covers you for everything else. I went with Sainburys, which did me a great deal.
