Very,very busy weekend!
Nov. 8th, 2004 11:02 amI am so glad that I have today off, I can get on with all the things that I've had to let slide cos of running around the country this weekend. I've only had a lie in today!
Sat - up ridiculously early to get the train to Warwick. Was really odd to go back there after 10 yrs. Loads has changed, well, it would be silly to exepect it not to, I mean, I've changed tons. There's a whole new wing the Ansell Block, which has replaced block 9, and taken most of Red House gardens! It was really nice to see some of the members of staff were still there, I spoke to Miss Clark (English), Mrs Watts (history), Miss Crayston (music) and the creme de la creme Mrs Lampitt and Miss Hollingsworth (RS) without whom I would never have gone to UKC, done Theology and become a pagan. According to Jodaboi, when I cam home, I was talking 'very public school' but considering I spent the early part of the day at one, what can he expect?
The girls themselves have so many more options now, yoga, Japanese, Russian (these are all clubs within school). I know that if I ever have a daughter, I am gonna get into the catchment area of that school so damn fast!
Then in the afternoon, I went and got glittered at Lush! The B Never party was excellent, DD spent a fortune, and we both throughly enjoyed ourselves! It's lovely to get all girlie and stuff.
Sunday - Witchfest. Up early (again!), lovely Dru-lady came over and we set off on the pilgrimage to Croyden! Had a really good drive down passing the classic cars London-Brighton rally, and finding the Fairfield without any problems at all. No fundies, which was great (I've yet to see them tho!). No tickets, not so great, but that was sorted without any problems! Claire had HUGE problems getting there owing to the rail crash, but made it eventually.
There wasn't masses to buy (maybe I'm getting more picky), but I got a gorgeous print by Mark Kirwan-Heyhoe, a card and Witchcraft and Wicca mag. Claire bought me the Kate West cd, which is fabulous, and we got to see Kate doing one of her wonderfully down to earthy talks. She's one of my idols! It was lovely to be able to move around without so many crowds, unlike last yr!
Gave a lift to 2 stranded ladies on the way home and got stuck for 2 hours on the M25! Lovely! Fortunatley they were lovely and funny and friendly, and no pixie ears (this yrs craze!).
And now as I am typing with a cat sat on me, I must go and have lunch and clean the house.
