The last weekend of cons was the biggie - Miracle Day. Torchwood cons are notoriously riotous, and Miracle Day doubly so. Being the final one, it was always going to be an incredible (and exhausting) weekend, and it ended on a real high!

Shenanigans within )And so that's it for Torchwood cons for the time being. We just have to see what Sean Harry comes up with going forwards!

This weekend it was the second of the three cons in a row - Wales Comic Con, quite possibly one of my favourite cons in the UK. Typically I ended up leaving the house late and not having as much time as I wanted to do things in town - but I caught my train to Wrexham without any issues and got to the Premier Inn shortly after Spark arrived. All the excitement below )

Last weekend I set off on a Northern Adventure. I had a stress free arrival in Brum, realised I'd forgotten my wee pressie for His Nibs whilst getting travelling snacks in Tescos (and yes, I did have a 'Could I get home and back in time to catch the train?' thought. The answer was 'No!'), and managed to get onto the Glasgow train with no hassles.More below )

And now I've going to London tomorrow with Mumsie to take her to the V&A, so I'd better go and get some sleep!

This has been a long time coming, but here is my Wales Comic Con post.

It's all below this cut )

This weekend was the rescheduled KLZ Buffy and Angel fan meet. I confess I wasn't looking forward to it as much as I should have been. The rescheduling took a lot of the gloss off it, the schedule was clash city and the organisors customer service was a bit.......abrupt. I am pleased to say that I was pleasently surprised!
Details of the adventure under the cut )

All in all, I'd probably go to another KLZ con. They are very will organised, and they pack a lot in, but the lack of downtime wasn't the best. I didn't realise how much I need the ability to step away, particularly if I feel like shite. Next con is WCC and hopefully there won't be a fekking cold sore making an appearence!

This weekend I fought off the post-Whitby blues by going to the Brighton Film and Comic Con. Sadly it was an SM con, but I was only going for James, and for the shenanigans that happen around cons - cos shenanigans!

Work was INSANELY busy for the two days that I was there. Yes, I did everything I was meant to, and I am truely impressed by that. I did 2 weeks work in 2 days, I cut it right down to the essentials and delivered. Here's hoping I don't go in to discover that there was an issue!

Shenanigans below )

Much as I hate to admit it, the con had a great atmosphere and was a fantastic experience. It was very quiet compared to WCC and other SM cons, but I liked that. It was an excellent venue, and despite Brighton being stupidly windy, I really enjoyed myself!

Today has featured Spoons breakfast, a fabulous journey with Spark and Lizzie and home. Tomorrow is work - that sucks!

This weekend was the Miracle Day 2 con down in London. Following the hugely disappointing election result (I'm still processing), it was great to have something to take my mind off it. The journey down was fine. I managed to get everything I wanted, and the train had a luggage space - double huzzah!

I met up with Shar in Euston (thanks to lovely people helping me with the case and stairs), and we set off towards Heathrow. There was a surprise meeting up with Jooles and Sarah at the bus stop and we all went off to the hotel. Check in was relatively painless, except that they didn't have a twin room, so Rosie and I ended up in a king room with a put-me-up. The hotel was stupidly warm, and getting the room cool was the first thing. Then it was time for changing into evening finery and gathering everything together for the Opening Ceremony and Meet & Greet. I was too hot to wear my new fingerless gloves, so settled for my cuff instead.

Shenanigans Below - Long! )

I had a wonderful time, and I can't wait for next year. I'm hoping for Burn! And it appears that we didn't scare James off! Result!

Friday saw me on the way to Newcastle with my trusy wee case. The journey was pretty uneventful. I got to see the twisted spire at Chesterfield and had a bit of a moment when we got to Darlington, as the last time I was there I met up with God and Angus :-) Finding the hotel was relatively simple, but I managed to clout my heel with my case and the tip came off, so that was annoying (and meant I was totally focussed on superglue for the evening!). Also there are many hills in Newcastle, and ALL the wind! :-)It got loooooong! )

On the train home, I was struck by the realisation that I have so many amazing friends, and how wonderful they are and how lucky I am that they have come into my life. Bit of a soppy note to end on, but that's what happens when you are on a train going through some lovely parts of the UK as the sun sets into glorious reds.

I have returned from my Italian adventure. There is still part of me that can't believe that I actually went, people like me don't do made things like that, we sit at home and wish that we could do things like that. But I did it. And it was fantastic :-)
Open for Con Adventure! )
It was an absolutely brilliant weekend, the staff were great considering everything had to be in Italian and English. I've met people from Germany, Israel, Denmark, Portugal, the US, and the Cech Republic, and everyone has been lovely. I'm so glad I was brave and did it. It was a fabulous experience!
